Golfing Tips to Put to Use this National Golf Lover’s Day

Welcome back to the blog for The Estates at Briggs Ranch! You may be getting ready for the upcoming Halloween holiday, but that’s not until the end of the month. Celebrate a holiday this week while celebrating one of your passions. Thursday, the 4th, is National Golf Lover’s Day, so try out these golfing tips at a golf course near our apartments here in San Antonio, TX.

Come prepared.

You don’t have to empty your savings account to get started golfing, so don’t sweat it too much if you’re worried that getting the right clubs means it has to be a huge investment. If you’re new to golf, consider renting equipment or borrowing from a friend who golfs and who could lend a club that might work for you. Don’t forget the sunscreen, gloves, and a hat, too!

 

Warm up.

Warming up to anything always sets you in the right mind and prepares your body for the activity. This is useful for golf as well as anything else! Hitting off a few balls and playing some practice holes will help get your mind and body in the right zone to play a focused game.

 

Practice perfect posture.

Having great posture is not only good for you physically — it’s also important to your golfing game! Take dead aim and check your alignment every time you golf so you can get in the habit of creating an on-point hit! Create a solid stance as you do so and tilt at your hips, not at your waist, so you can have great form. Practice it every time and you’ll develop healthy habits that will also result in better swings and hits.
